Hmm... When a chemical reaction occurs, molecular bonds are broken and other bonds are formed to make different molecules. For example, the bonds of two water molecules are broken to form hydrogen and oxygen. @cakequeen_22 Is this what you asked for ? May or May not be... Good Day Friend !! Cheers !

Dpends on what you have.

If you would start with 2 neutral elements (meaning the element has the same # electrons and protons, and obviously they are not bonded to anything) to form a product then energy is released when bonds are formed. However, most chemical reactions occur with bonds being broken and bonds being formed. If the bonds formed are stronger than the bonds broken, energy will be released. If however, the bonds formed are weaker than the bonds broken energy will be absorbed.
