which of the following has the highest ionization energy?

OpenStudy (korosh23):

|dw:1434159349153:dw| Please explain how? Ionization means: energy absorbed when an electron is removed from each atom of a mole of neutral atoms pf the element. Trends: Right - up

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Remember that Protons have a pulling force on the electrons making it harder for each electron to be removed. So if a atom is 2+ meaning it has 2 less electrons its remaining electrons will be held even closer to the nucleus due to the much stronger attractive force of the greater amount of Protons to electrons in the atom making it very hard to remove electrons on an atom that is 2+ compared to it would be easier to remove electrons on a 2- ion due to extra electron shielding. Sorry this is written kinda badly.
