SCIENCE IS A GHOST TOWN PLEASE HELP NaOH, KOH, and Ca(OH)2 are examples of neutral compounds. bases. acids. salts.

OpenStudy (agl202):

Bases of course!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you figure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bases have -OH, OH is hydroxide which is a basic ion

OpenStudy (agl202):

They are all strong bases cuz group one cations and many of the group two cations combine with hydroxide to give a strong base.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about these: HCl, HC2H3O2, and H2SO4 are examples of acids. bases. salts. neutral compounds.?

OpenStudy (agl202):

Would be acids.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, hopefully last one.. There are more hydrogen ions in a solution than hydroxide ions. The solution is acidic. basic. neutral. a salt.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Agl is right, look at the first letter of the compounds, it contains H, which you could easily say that its acid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

H= acid OH= base More H means more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acidic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup
