REALLY NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME!!!! Which sequence of transformations was performed on figure PQRS to produce figure PꞌꞌQꞌꞌRꞌꞌSꞌꞌ? A. PQRS was reflected across the y-axis and then rotated 90° counterclockwise about the origin. B. PQRS was reflected across the x-axis and then rotated 90° counterclockwise about the origin. C. PQRS was translated 5 units left and then reflected across the x-axis. D. PQRS was rotated 180° clockwise around the origin and then translated 1 unit left.

i reallllllllllllly need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Nnesha ? any ideas?

Nnesha (nnesha):

hm not sure..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to me, like none work

Nnesha (nnesha):

do you know the definition of 90 counterclockwise and 180 , 90 clockwise ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm i think so

Nnesha (nnesha):

90 counterclockwise \[\large\rm (x,y) ----> (-y,x)\] 90 clockwise \[\large\rm (x,y)----->(y,-x)\] 180 clockwise \[\large\rm (x,y)---->(-x,-y)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay yeah thats what i thought

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooooo not D?

Nnesha (nnesha):

thinking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because p=1,2 and p"=-2,-1

Nnesha (nnesha):

gimme a sec i mean 5 mint

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really dont think its C so im guessing A or B

Nnesha (nnesha):

yah i guess i'm working 'n it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im thinking A, hbu?

Nnesha (nnesha):

1 mint :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was A, thanks for explaining the 90' and 180" things for me =D your a lifesaver!!!

Nnesha (nnesha):

yea you are right sorry for late i was did something wrong and here is an explanation for A so first we have to rotate across the y -axis to do that we have to y -coordinate stays same like in original image and change the sign of x coordinate so in the original image P (1,2) Q(3,1) R(3,3) S(1,4) rotate over y-axis like i said y values stay same change sign of x coordinate P(-1,2) Q(-3,1) R(-3,3) S(-1,4)|dw:1434320428977:dw| now we have to use those definitions
