FRENCH - I know "enfant" is a feminine noun. But I just saw the sentence "Il a un enfant." Why was it changed to masculine (with the "un" instead of "une")?

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

"enfant" is masculine in modern French. So the sentence: "Il a un enfant" is the correct one. "Une enfant" sounds dated and was used for a female child but can still be found in literary work.

OpenStudy (aishanuwang):

Oh, okay. It was in a French song "Dernière Danse" in which I heard the singer say "une enfant" so I see now that it's more of a style thing. Merci pour votre aide!
