@Opcode

OpenStudy (koikkara):

Alrite, 1st picture is grass right? @geny55 Then who is eating grass ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know what that animal is called

OpenStudy (koikkara):

well grass eating animals are called.....____ ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

graminovores

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or herbivores

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

if you took out one of the predators in the food web, then you are decreasing the competition for other predators at the same time giving a chance of higher chance of survival for the preys.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but what happens if we removed the jaguar specifically

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

if I gave you the answer then you won't learn anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know but explain it and ill get it

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

think about what would happen to the population of cows and other animals if you took out humans on earth.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

the number of cows would increase, because there is one less predator to eat them

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I teach concepts, not give answers. This is the point of studying.

OpenStudy (melodious):

????????/ jaguar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what you explained so far, this is what i think the answer is :) @nincompoop

OpenStudy (melodious):

;(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the population of jaguars would increase because there is one less predator to eat them. is that right @nincompoop

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Compassionate

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

how would the population of jaguar increase if you are removing it from the system? you focus on what is left in the web and not what you took out of it.
