16x^5-44x^4+30x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you wanting to do with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reverse it, unsimplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have the answer I just don't know how to get to it

This should help http://www.tiger-algebra.com/drill/16x~5-44x~4_30x~3/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me @peachpi ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. first look at the x's to see if you can pull out a common factor. Your lowest exponent is 3, so factor out x³ first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean by that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^3 (8x^2 - 22x + 15) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. Then we need to factor 8x² - 22x + 15 To do that multiply 8 and 15 to get 120 You need to find 2 numbers that multiply to 120 and add to -22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 and 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have -22 so -10 and -12. The way I do it is just to divide them both by 8 (since that's the front number) and then reduce. |dw:1435792249711:dw|
