OpenStudy (sloppycanada):

This little thing is frustrating - I believe the change in enthalpy is positive (meaning this is an endothermic reaction) http://gyazo.com/a4f7b719de64995122305fd139fc8c3a

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Depending on what you're focusing on, the process is both exo- and endothermic. It's endo in the view of the water, the water is absorbing heat, and it's exo in terms of the reaction (combustion) occurring in the vessel inside the calorimeter.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you need to determine which is your system and which is the surrounding.
