10.1g hydrogen and 14.3 g Fe3O4 are combined in a beaker. According to the chemical reaction, Fe3O4+4H2->3Fe+4H2O? A) what is the limiting reagent B) how many grams of each product are produced C) how much of excess will be left over

OpenStudy (zale101):

A) 1st step: get each grams of H2 and Fe3O4and convert to moles 2nd step: get each moles of H2 and Fe3O4 and do mole to mole ratio to convert to moles of one of the product (either Fe or H2O). 3rd step: The least amount of moles of product is the limiting reactant, and therefore, the answer for A. B) Convert the limiting reactant of the product to grams C) 1st step: Convert the limiting reactant moles to the excess reactant moles by mole to mole ratio. 2nd step: Convert excess reactant moles to grams. 3rd step: Subtract excess reactant grams from the grams the excess reactant started with.
