Chemistry question: Would you expect a double replacement reaction to occur between potassium chloride (KCl) and sodium nitrate (NaNO3)? Please explain.

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@thomaster Can you please help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Theoretically the products should be KNO3 and NaCl. Those are both soluble compounds ( http://intro.chem.okstate.edu/1515SP01/Database/Solub.html) so there is no solid, gas, or salt from a acid/base rxn. They just stay as ions

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Okay so that's it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty much

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Thanks for explaining that! :)

you're welcome
