OpenStudy (bruno102):

A non-spontaneous reaction is: a reaction that always releases free energy a reaction that will occur without an input of heat a reaction that will only occur with outside interference a reaction that will occur without outside interference

OpenStudy (photon336):

This is Gibbs free energy, which tells us that a reaction that's spontaneous delta G <0 will occur but it doesn't tell you how fast your reaction will happen that's kinetics something separate.

OpenStudy (photon336):

A non spontaneous reaction is one in which delta G>0 which means that the reaction won't happen spontaneously although some cases you can increase temp to make it spontaneous but it varies.

OpenStudy (photon336):

It would occur with outside interference meaning you May need to put in energy to get it going.

OpenStudy (bruno102):

So that would make it C?

OpenStudy (photon336):

I would say it's C but do you understand why?

OpenStudy (bruno102):

I believe so, thank you for your help.

OpenStudy (photon336):

Absolutely.. Remember spontaneous will say the reaction will tend towards the products but won't tell you how fast it will happen
