Does anyone know the chemical composition of acid rain? I'm researching it and everywhere I look it either only talks about the ph scale or makes it really complicated. I'll fan and medal anyone who helps. Thanks!

My examples for pollutants were sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide if that helps

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

In the gas phase, sulfur dioxide is oxidized by the reaction with the hydroxyl radical via an intermolecular reaction: SO2 + OH· → HOSO2· HOSO2· + O2 → HO2· + SO3 In the presence of water, sulfur trioxide (SO3) is converted rapidly to sulfuric acid: SO3 (g) + H2O (l) → H2SO4 (aq) Nitrogen dioxide reacts with OH to form nitric acid: NO2 + OH· → HNO3 Does this help?
