The domain of the following relation R {(3, −2), (1, 2), (−1, −4), (−1, 2)} is... A. {−1, 1, 3} B. {−1, −1, 1, 3} C. {−4, −2, 2, 2} D. {−4, −2, 2}

OpenStudy (freckles):

can you name the x-coordinate of every pair

OpenStudy (freckles):

that means can you name the first number in every pair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/ Not very sure

OpenStudy (freckles):

here is a pair (3,-2) which number is first and which number is second?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 is X and -2 is Y?

OpenStudy (freckles):

yes

OpenStudy (freckles):

we want to list all of the x coordinates of every pair for the domain

OpenStudy (freckles):

so 3 is going to be in the domain

OpenStudy (freckles):

what about looking at the pair (1,2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 would be the domain?

OpenStudy (freckles):

yes 1 is going to be in the domain

OpenStudy (freckles):

so far we have 1,3 are in the domain

OpenStudy (freckles):

what about (-1,-4)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1 would be the Domain so 1, 3 and -1 would be in the pot?

OpenStudy (freckles):

yes -1,1,3 are all going to be in the pot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

xD Thank you btw medal :P

OpenStudy (freckles):

by the way there isn't a real difference from A and B A is less redundant so I would go with A because there is no reason to repeat an element twice

OpenStudy (freckles):

anyways you did great so you get a medal too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank's :D
