By looking at this tool, you can maybe find out which number up there doesn't belong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's okay! let me explain....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're looking for the difference in the type of number. There are many different types: natural, whole, integers, rational, real, and irrational.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Natural numbers are positive, whole numbers that are greater than zero. For example: 1,2,3,4,5, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whole numbers are positive, whole numbers, but this time include zero. For example: 0,1,2,3,4, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Integers are whole numbers that include negatives, zero, and positives. for example: -2,-1,0,1,2, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rational numbers include fractions and decimals. Some examples are: 7/8, 3/4, 0.87, 0.5 repeating. Note: repeating decimals (1.2222222222...) ARE rational.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rational numbers could also be -2, 0, 1, 36, -100, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thinks its -50.1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it give me 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you do what to it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have one more bit of info here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Irrational numbers are numbers that keep on going on forever and forever. Like: pi, non perfect square roots, 0.3275638427...., etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so can you tell me if im right yes or no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50.1 repeating is a rational number. -50/2 is a rational number. -50.1 is a rational number. The square root of 50 however, is not a rational number because no number squared goes perfectly into 50. The number that does not belong is: the square root of 50. D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea
