What is current

OpenStudy (radar):

The movement of charge.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\(I\) or \(i(t)\) is used to represent the \(\it{i}\)ntensity of an electric current. The SI unit of current is the ampere: \([\text A]\), equal to a coulomb (unit of charge) per second: \([\text C/\text s]\). The current is rate at which a (positive) charge \(q\) is moving: \[\qquad I=\frac{dq}{dt}\]

OpenStudy (radar):

Please note that the charge may be negative as well as positive. Current in metal such as copper conductors consist primarily of negative charges (electrons)
