i have one more question if you dont mind me asking
go right ahead
ok i was thinking about it and im not realy sure Why did factory workers dread unemployment? It reduced the power of the unions to bargain for the workers. Unemployment insurance was not available. The unions would not support the workers.
i think its the unions would not suport the workers
its the second one because now a days if you are unemployed you get an unemployment check and back then there was none of that so workers dreaded it. u understand?
last one is B
ohhh yeah and also back then they didnt have cover if they got injured or something right?
All employed persons dread the prospect of unemployment. Clearly, this threatens their ability to pay rent or make mortgage payments. But until the advent of organized labor and certain government programs, there was no unemployment insurance for workers, and striking workers did not receive any assistance from the unions. And there was no public welfare system to provide minimum incomes for those unable to find work. Today's unemployment payments are limited, but in many cases have been extended for longer periods. This mitigates the impact of layoffs and downsizing in some industries.
Yeap you got it
