Yuri measures the height of the water in an aquarium in one metric unit. He then moves the decimal point three units to the left. Which pair of measurements might he be converting kiloliters to liters centiliters to hectoliters liters to deciliters deciliters to hectoliters
can i have some help i aint doing the math right now not when im in this much pain
This is a bit confusing: measures the height and all the answers have liters which measures volume (not height) But let's assume they mean he measured the volume of water in the aquarium, and got he answer 1 (nice and simple)
He then moves the decimal point three units to the left. in other words he starts out with 1.0 and moves the decimal point 1 step to the left: 0.10 2 steps: 0.010 3 steps 0.001
if he was changing kiloliters to liters 1 kiloliters is 1000 liters in other words, 1 would get changed to 1000 but we are doing 1 to 0.001 so not choice A
we should make a note of what the prefixes mean kilo multiply by 1000 centi divide by 100 hecto multiply by 100 deci divide by 10
so the choices means A kiloliters to liters 1000 liters to liters B centiliters to hectoliters liters/100 to 100 liters which means divide by 10000 C liters to deciliters 1 to liters/10 divide by 10 D deciliters to hectoliters liter/10 to 100 liters divide by 1000 it looks like choice D
