What is the hindsight bias for any of you ap psych lovers out there?

It's when someone says "I knew it all along" after something happens despite the fact that person didn't know anything because there was little to no evidence pointing to that outcome.

Note that it differs from actually predicting / knowing something would happen before it does simply due to the fact that there is no possible way for the person in question to have arrived at the conclusion.

For example:

"What is 2+2 ?"
* no one answers *
"It's 4."
I knew it all along.

This answer there is of course the premise that I have completed 1st grade and I did well in school. There are valid and objective reasons to conclude that I did indeed know the answer was 4 all along yet I chose not to answer.

"What number am I thinking of ?"
* no one answers *
"The number is 4."
I knew it all along.

This answer has absolutely no premise as there is nothing to indicate me having arrived to that conclusion before the answer was given. There are no valid and objective reasons to conclude that I did indeed know the answer was 4.
