Meg described four triangles as shown below: Triangle P: All sides have length 7 cm. Triangle Q: Two angles measure 55°. Triangle R: Two sides have length 8 cm, and the included angle measures 60°. Triangle S: Base has length 8 cm, and base angles measure 55°. Which triangle is not a unique triangle?

please help if you know :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is a unique triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unique Triangles are Triangles that do not have an equivalent. This means there is not another triangle that has the exact dimensions or shape.

See, in P, all the sides are equal, so here you get equivalent... So it is unique..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In Q also, you have two sides equal, here also equal term comes, it is not unique..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*i mean Q is also unique..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so that leaves R and S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hell : In Q, two angles are equal, so it is also unique..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In R, see two sides are equal, it is also unique...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so its not the first 2 right? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See, where you are getting something equal, that is unique...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok and S isn't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my answer would be S then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In third, R, as two sides are equal, see they are equal, so R is unique.. Yes, S is not unique as side is not equal to any other side and angle also is not equal to any other angle of triangle..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hopefully, the answer is "last letter" of my username.. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then thank you so much! @waterineyes
