I NEED HELP PLEASE Choose the correct graph of the given system of equations. y - 2x = -1 x + 3y = 4

|dw:1437707548431:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

RAPMON PLS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry i got distracted... Okay then first you got to make the equations into standard form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to make it into standard form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um idk help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay then. You have to subtract -2x and 3 to the other side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*3y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be, y=-1+2x and x=4-3y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to graph that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really, no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay then um i can't explain it well but the number 1 without a variable would be graphed on the y axis (0,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeh i get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You would then got from (0,1) and go add up to 2 because 2x is not negative. It would then be on (1,1) because you added up to and go right one time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now go back to the start which is (0,1). This is where you'll make another point but it will be in the negative side (really your just reversing what you did so you could make a line). Go down 2 and go left once. (-1,-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I APOLIGIZE I MADE A MISTAKE ON THE START IT SHOULD BE (0,-1) NOT (0,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OKAY ITS FINE xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's negative that's why sorry :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty heh. so what answer choice is the most accurate based on our information that we have gathered?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont see any of the points as (0,1) tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(0,-1) I MADE A MISTAKE I'M SORRY DX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok but none of them are (0,-1) eitherr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We did not solve the 2nd equation but i don't think it's necessary because nothing else matches the 1st equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its no solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, i feel like i didn't explain very well. Very sorry for that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The solution would be where both lines intersect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so A or B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1st Equation: y=-1+2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait you said its negative so would the answer be A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first point would start at (0,-1) the second point would lie at (1,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 2nd Equation: x=4-3y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 1st point would start at (0,4) because 4 is positive and you would go down 3 because 3y is negative so the 2nd point lies in (-1,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, would do you think the answer is now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wasnt A correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I sorry i confused you, i confused myself and rejected your correct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because none of the graphs are correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup i see no line matching the equations
