Two solutions are boiled. The first is 1 mol of a sodium chloride(NaCl) solution forming two ions. The second one is 1 mol of calcium chloride (CaCl2) solution forming three ions. How will the boiling points of the two solutions compare? please help me I really don't understand this, will give you a medal :)

OpenStudy (elcna):

B is the molality of the solute and I is van 't Hoff factor, associated to electrolytes by dissociation I = 1.9 for sodium chloride I = 2.3 for calcium chloride So there is a higher boiling point for the CaCl2 solution
