Since they have the same denominator, just subtract both numerators.
A property of fractions that's very important to remember is that expressions with common denominators can be expressed as a single joint expression combined together, relative to whatever operators are applying to the expressions. In this case, the following occurs: \[\frac{ x+1 }{ x } - \frac{ 2x - 4 }{ x } = \frac{ x + 1 - 2x + 4 }{ x }\]Then, simply subtract the corresponding terms. Subtract 2x from x and add 1 and 4, and the resulting expression will be the numerator of the final answer. There's nothing really you can do about the denominator, so once you simplify the numerator, you have your final answer.

Correct. Depending on the teacher/professor, he/she may want you to reduce further, but (5-x)/x is usually the simplest accepted answer for most people.
