OpenStudy (republican31):

Two friends, Kate and Simone, plan to drive toward each others’ respective cities and meet halfway in between. If Kate averages 62 mph and Simone averages 57 mph, and they start at the same time 154 miles apart, for how many hours will they be driving before they meet? Round to the nearest tenth of an hour if necessary. I think I have it set up right: 62t+57t=154 119t=154 t=1.3 Hours Kate and Simone each had to drive 1.3 hours. Is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah...it should be

Thank you! I was originally planning to ask how to do this from the beginning, but as I was writing it I had an idea and tried to solve it. So then I just wanted to make sure it was correct. Thank you!
