Why would the following conditional be false? If you would 20 hours a week, then you make 125.00 A. You work 25 hours a week, and make 125.00 B. You work 25 hours a week, and you make 175.00 C. You work 20 hours a week, and you make 170.00 D. You work 20 hours a week, and you make 125.00

@imqwerty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

option c is supposed to be 175 not 170

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

is there any equation there or the part which is not here ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the entire question

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

Option C is correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

Do you have more questions ?

imqwerty (imqwerty):

but how?

imqwerty (imqwerty):

why can't A and B be the answer.. they are also proving the conditional wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because of how conditionals are defined logically

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The statement "if p then q " is only false when p is true and q is false. It is true otherwise .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"If you would 20 hours a week, then you make 125.00" is only false in the case when you work 20 hours a week and do not make 125 dollars. It is true otherwise. in part a) you do not work 20 hours so the conditional is not made false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

similarly with part b)
