Find the area of the circle of spilled paint as a function of time, or A[r(t)]. to do that , start with the formula for the area \[ A = \pi \ r^2\] now erase the r and put in its place (3t) can you do that ?
A=π3t^2
Part A: π(3t)^2 (3.14)(9)(t^2) 28.26t^2 Part B: 28.26 x 10^2=2826 I got this but i don't know if its right
almost. remember that "3t" is r so you should put in parens (3t)^2 (which means 3*t*3*t or 9*t*t or 9*t^2)
so Part A: π(3t)^2 (3.14)(9t^2) 28.26t^2
yes. all of that looks ok but they may want you to leave it as pi in part A (that is more accurate way to show the formula) so \[ A(t)= 9 \pi t^2 \]
in part B they say you can use 3.14 , so now you can do A(10)= 9*3.14*10^2 which will simplify to your answer 2826
Oh ok so i will just write it both ways
Thank you so much!! :)
