wtf im so lost whats the sum of the polynomials 4x^2y+2x^2y^3 and -2xy+x^2y^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just combine like terms. 3x^2 y^3 + 4 x^2 y - 2xy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

=4x^2y + 2x^2y^3 + −2xy + x^2y^3 Separate them. The first term and the third term are like terms! Also the second and fourth are too. So, add them together. =(2x^2y^3+x^2y^3)+(4x^2y)+(−2xy) =3x^2y^3+4x^2y+−2xy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo that means it would mean \[4x^2y+3x^2y^3-2xy\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@izuru

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3x^2y^3+4x^2y−2xy\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats not in one of my choices
