is an=(6/5)^n an arithmetic or geometric sequence? *** the "n" by the a in a small n (not exponent)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and why?

OpenStudy (danjs):

Arithmetic has a common difference (d) for each increase in n. It is a line. \[a _{n} = a _{0}+n*d\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

Geometric is an exponential function, each increase in n, will multiply the thing by some number, in this case (6/5)

ok i see, thank you!

here is a straight forward explanation ... http://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-arithmetic-sequence-and-vs-geometric-sequence/
