How do you represent the (decimal) integer 50 in, oh, "hexadecimal," otherwise known as base-16?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

in decimal, 050 means 0x10^2 + 5x10 + 0x1 in hexadecimal 050 would mean 0x16^2 + 5x16 + 0x1, (ie 90 in decimal ) which is much too big we want ???x16^2 + ??x16 + ?x1 to equal 50 in decimal

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

16^2 is equal to 256, this is larger than 50, so `???` is 0 16 is less than 50 so `??` will not be zero, to find `??` , see how many whole 16's you can fit into 50

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Do a short division and collect the remainders. Here's an example for converting 423 base 10 to hexadecimal. |dw:1439548930885:dw|
