help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thomaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iYuko

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey @Vocaloid. can you atleast try to help me with it and if you dont know then you can tell me :)

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

what's the question?

iYuko (iyuko):

I just loved getting tagged to a post without a question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well its not a question, its more of an assignment

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

well, then, what's the assignment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its about an ecosystem.. the first thing to do is to pick one of these.... you can choose it if you want rain forest desert taiga coral reef acrtic tundra temperate forest

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

it doesn't matter to me, you can pick... it's your assignment

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

I would try to research each one and see which one you like the best

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, lets doooo.... um, coral reef :)

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

ok, what's next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then it says.. Now that you have selected your ecosystem you can use the link below that goes with your ecosystem to help you answer the following questions about your ecosystem. You can also use other resources but make sure you list what used at the bottom. this is the link for coral reef : http://kids.nceas.ucsb.edu/biomes/coralreef.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it gives me questions... lets go one by one :) this is the first one! 1. Give a general description of your Ecosystem

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

read the information in the link, and summarize it in your own words...

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

pick out the most important facts about coral reefs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but thats what i need your help on.. these questions :) please

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

read the link first...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

now tell me a little bit about what you learned...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok um, Coral reefs are generally found in tropical oceans. They form in waters from the surface to about 150 feet deep because they need sunlight to survive. Reefs usually develop in areas that have a lot of wave action because the waves bring in food, nutrients and oxygen to the reef. Reefs need calcium from the water to grow, which is more often available in shallow warm waters. The sun is the source of energy for the coral reef ecosystem. Coral reef ecosystems are important for many reasons. They remove and recycle carbon dioxide, which is a gas that contributes to global warming.Reefs provide food, for example, lobster and conch.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

great, that's a fine answer for the first question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but its not in my own words

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

then make it in your own words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im terrible at putting things in my own words :( can you help me with that

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

uh, not really, but here's a helpful tip: read through the information again carefully, then write down what you remember WITHOUT looking at the original source. whatever you write will probably be in your own words

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

all you need to do is describe the coral reef in a different way than the author does

iYuko (iyuko):

#1 Coral reefs can be found in oceans at about 150 feet deep! Coral reefs need sunlight to survive. Reefs need vitamin D from the ocean water so they can grow bigger, which is easier to get in shallow water.

iYuko (iyuko):

DO NOT USE MY EXACT WORDS!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks for an example :)

iYuko (iyuko):

WHATS NEXT?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find an example of your ecosystem. List the name and where it is located in the World. (example: Wetlands ecosystem, Name: Everglades; Location: State of Florida in the North America)

iYuko (iyuko):

do I get a medal? i did #1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ofcourse

iYuko (iyuko):

then make a new post for #2

iYuko (iyuko):

so I can get another medal. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
