How do you figure (32-2)+12/4•3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PEMDAS: 32-2 is 30 so (30)+12/4*3 next its 12/4= 3 and now its (30)+3*3 so now we do 3*3 and we get 9 so its 30+9 and that is 39. Pretty sure I did that right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya sure :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4•(32-2)+12/4•3 4*(30)+12/4*3 120+12/4*3 120+3*3 120+9 =129

message me if u need help with any more of these

OpenStudy (crazyelephant):

I have one more I am stuck on. It reads: the first step when simplifying any expression is parentheses. However in the following expression the first operation you perform is simplifying the exponent. Justify this reasoning. ( 6 to the power of 2 + 3 • 10.5) - 8.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( 6^2 + 3 • 10.5) - 8.2 (36+3*10.5)-8.2 (36+31.5)-8.2 67.5-8.2 =59.3

OpenStudy (crazyelephant):

Thank you
