In a monohybrid cross, if the gene for tall (T) plants was incompletely dominant over the gene for short (t) plants, what would be the predicted result of crossing an intermediate (Tt) plant with a short (tt) plant? (Hint: You may want to complete a Punnett square) @Rushwr @shreehari499
@shreehari499 will give medal
Incomplete dominance refers to a genetic situation in which one allele does not completely dominate another allele, and therefore results in a new phenotype.
So it would probably be medium height?
@Rushwr
the intermediate one that is Tt one would be something lyk that. But if u get TT or tt they will be as normal. SO just go through the results u get.
gametes from Tt would be T and t Gametes from tt would be t So i think we will end up havin Tt and tt again which means u will have an intermediate and a short one.
Agree ? @shreehari499
OK... This is cool... I'm on my mobile so I'll not be able to draw the punnet square... But I'll still help you with it
So as Rush had explained, due to incomplete dominance, the intermediate would be a medium sized plant I.e,Tt
So we need to cross the medium sized plant, Tt with a short plant tt. Tt × tt
So what do we get?
@Devingee23 ?
umm I dont know
@shreehari499
Try crossing Tt and tt
So you get Tt Tt tt and tt as Rush said
You get back the medium sized plant and the short plant
