PLEASE HELP - MEDAL AND FAN:
Hey guys, sorry I know this isn't exactly math, but there was nobody in chemistry. I have a few questions on significant figures and I was wondering if you could check my answers?

?
Vocaloid (vocaloid):
yes to all
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Awesome, so
100 has 1
and 1.0 * 10^2 has 1 as well right?
Vocaloid (vocaloid):
almost
1.0 * 10^2 has 2, since we count the 0 after a decimal point

ok what about rounding to sig figs?
0.00034159 to three digits? how do i do that
Vocaloid (vocaloid):
well,
0.00034159 has 5 sig figs, so we look at the third digit from the right (1). then we look at 5 (the next digit) to see whether to keep 1 or round to 2. since it's 5 we round 1 to 2 like so:
0.00342
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok but what happened to the third zero?
Vocaloid (vocaloid):
oh whoops
0.000342

103.351 * 10^2 to 4 digits.
103.4?
Vocaloid (vocaloid):
yup, but don't forget the 10^2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok so i keep that. Next one is:
17.9915 to 5 digits
17.992
Vocaloid (vocaloid):
yup
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok and the last one:
3.365 * 10^5 to 3 digits
3.37 * 10^5 ?
