sin 68 = 14 / AC cross multiply AC * sin 68 = 14 divide both sides by sin 68 AC = 14 / sin 68

There is a point C on BD such that measure of angle ACB is 60 degrees and measure of angle ADC is 30 degrees. What is the distance, CD, between the boats?

Find length of BD from the big triangle ABD using tan 30 = 400 / BD then find length of BC from the small triangle using tan 60 = 400 / BC then CD = BD - BC
