can someone explain how to find rate of change in this graph (will give medal and fan)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nnesha (nnesha):

pick two poitns

Nnesha (nnesha):

points **

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok (2,14) (10,70)

Nnesha (nnesha):

nice :=)

Nnesha (nnesha):

rate of change means slope \[\huge\rm \frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2 -x_1 }\] now use those points to find slope

Nnesha (nnesha):

y_2 and x_2 mean 2nd y and 2nd x \[\huge\rm (x_1,y_1)(x_2,y_2)\]

68/-4?

Nnesha (nnesha):

hmm how did you get 68 and negative 4 ?? :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

remember y's should be at the top

OpenStudy (anonymous):

56/8 sorry i plugged the numbers in wrong the first time

Nnesha (nnesha):

it's oky yes that's right now divide 56 by 8 and ur done! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7 oh wow that was easier than i thought thank you so 7 would be my value?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes 7 is rate of change

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks so much

Nnesha (nnesha):
