OpenStudy (blackfireskull):

help please Select all that justify the following statement. 10 + x • 12 = 12x + 10 commutative - addition distributive associative - multiplication symmetric commutative - multiplication associative - addition identity - addition

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

two things changed right?

OpenStudy (blackfireskull):

i don't know. i think one of them is Distributive but im not sure

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[x\cdot 12\] became \(12x\) that is the commutative law of multiplication, \(ab=ba\)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is not the distributive law the distributive law says that \(ab+ac=a(b+c)\)

OpenStudy (blackfireskull):

oh. so is Commutative-Multiplication the only one?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

also the \(10\) and \(12x\) changed places the one on the left has the 10 first and the one on the right has it second when they change places, that is the commutative law again this time for addition

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is the commutative law twice once for addition, once for multiplication

OpenStudy (blackfireskull):

so Commutative- addition and Commutative- Multiplication?

OpenStudy (blackfireskull):

thanks @misty1212
