The function is:\[f(x) = \frac5{x-3}\] The domain of the function, is all the values of \(x\), that will make \(f(x)\) be equal to some number

There is one value of \(x\), that will make this \(f(x)\) — not equal to a number

this is when the denominator of the fraction is equal to zero, (because we cannot divide by 0) So, to find the value of \(x\), that is not in the domain of the function: set the denominator to zero, i.e. \(x-3 = 0\), and solve for \(x\)

The domain of the function will be all values of \(x\), other than this value
