On a game show there are 10 keys in a bag, 3 of the keys start the car.........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what are suppose to figure out??

OpenStudy (loganh):

hi again :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (loganh):

so there are 3 keys that start it, and 7 that don't. which means 3/10 start the car. Now what is 3/10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.33333333

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 0.3

OpenStudy (loganh):

So 30% would be the probability of the first pull

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer's 30%

OpenStudy (loganh):

but she got the other 70% , the keys that don't start the car

OpenStudy (loganh):

she then returns the key to the bag, and tries again, But the key that she picks, does not start the car, Which means another 70%, since she returned her last key.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All of this is so confusing!!! How would i write the answer? They say 'what is the probability of this no start, no start outcome'.

OpenStudy (loganh):

They are asking for the probability of them both having the same outcome. you would just write the answer as (answer)%. I Understand, as this is a bit confusing to me also, I'm only in eighth grade!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really!!! I'm in 10th and you're smarter than me and my mom!

OpenStudy (loganh):

Woah. lol

OpenStudy (loganh):

so, I may be wrong, I just want you to know this.So i would try to check this answer in any way you could. Or maybe ask your teacher/instructor. I got .51 or 51% in the answer form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just got my math book and figured it out, it's 24%

OpenStudy (loganh):

lol, woops. sorry!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's 49% lol sorry

OpenStudy (loganh):

lol, I was close!

OpenStudy (loganh):
