I think you say like since -5 is the y intercept you graph that at 0,-5. And go over 5 and 2 up for 2x. I think

than just plug your answer choices into the 2 inequalities and see which ones are true. Keep in mind, they both have to be true for it to be a solution.

Let me do the first one for you.....we will be using (4,-4)...x = 4 and y = -4 now lets begin.. x > 3....sub in 4 for x 4 > 3.....this is true now we have to check it with the other inequality. y <= 2x - 5....sub in 4 for x and -4 for y -4 <= 2(4) - 5 -4 <= 8 - 5 -4 <= 3....this is also true and since both are true, this is a solution understand ?

just be sure that both inequalities are true....because if you sub in your points and only one inequality is true, it is NOT a solution because they both have to be true

Because if you look at the first inequality x > 3....all of the answer choices are correct for this. So I would just check the answer choices with the 2nd inequality.

I am working in out 8<=2(4)-5 8<8-5 8<3 8 is not less than 3 so false

you are correct....and since (4,8) does not make BOTH inequalities true, then it is NOT a solution. Good job...way to go :)

try again..... x > 3 (6,0)...x = 6 and y = 0........do not get your x's and y's mixed up
