You have a jar of pennies and quarters. You wan’t to chose 15 coins hat are worth exactly $4.35 . How many pennies and how many quarters will you choose? p=pennies q=quarters I believe elimination would be best for this problem. I did not end up rounding any of the answers, instead I multiplied the first equation by -1 and the second equation by 100. p(-1) + q(-1) = 15(-1) .01p(100) + .25q(100) = 4.35(100) -p - q = -15 p + 25 = 435 -p - q = -15 p + 25 = 435 24q = 420 q = 17.5 p + (17.5) = 15 p = -2.5 i keep getting negative answers

I'm getting the same results. So it's not possible to have 15 coins that are either pennies or quarters and have the total value be $4.35
