Three of the following were results of the Hundred Years' War. Which was NOT?
What are the options?
There isnt any.
Well the obvious winner in this war was the French monarchy but Europe was still a far cry from the strong central governments and nationalism which came about by the 1500s. The loser of this was the English. The Hundred Years War was followed by another devastating war, the War of the Roses, which was a civil war fought between competing claimants to the throne. Two iconic nationalistic images emerged during this war. For the French it was Jean d'Arc, the religious zealot who turned the glory of France into her own personal religious mission. For the English, it was the Battle of Agincourt, when a vastly outnumbered English army utilized its superior archers in routing the French. Later during World War I, the image of the archers of Agincourt and Michael the Archangel guiding them was often reported by English soldiers trapped in the trenches and they used this to explain sudden shifts in momentum of battles.
