help me and you wil get a medal Note: Figure is not drawn to scale. If l = 12 cm and m = 5 cm, what is the length of n? A. 13 cm B. 14 cm C. 11 cm D. 10 cm https://app150.studyisland.com/pics/192060pic5.png

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

any one can please help me on this

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

hi can you help me

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@KAKES1967

hartnn (hartnn):

do you know about pythagoras theorem?

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

no I want but I think I heard it some were

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

but I can look it up real quick

hartnn (hartnn):

In a right triangle with legs, l and m, and hypotenuse as n, \(\Large n^2 = l^2+m^2\) you have values of l and m, find n

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

I would assume that A would be my answer

hartnn (hartnn):

why would you "assume" ? be sure, n^2 + 12^2+5^2 = 144 +25 n^2 =169 so, n =13

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

well I assume it because I looked like n but n was slanted plus it looked longer so I went with my common since

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

but your way is much better

hartnn (hartnn):

your logic would eliminate c and d, so not bad :)

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

thanks I try
