You need t, time of change to find acceleration. A= (Vf-Vi)/t . Without t, you need the distance it moved when changing speed then. and use T=d/(Vf-Vi) .

i think the question is about the sign of the acceleration, if your velocity goes from a higher positive value to a lower positive one acceleration must be negative: \[a=\frac{V_f-V_i}{\Delta t}=\frac{6-10}{\Delta t}=\frac{-4}{\Delta t}<0\] since the time variation \(\Delta t\) is always positive!
