I have to write a essay can i get any ideas on the topic Topic: Some historians have argued that the settlement of the English colonies was undertaken in a haphazard manner, with little regard to the geography, climate, peoples, or practical demands of the New World. Support, modify, or refute this contention using specific evidence. (im only asking for help i am drawing a blank)
a few of my ideas: haphazard because: - colonies like Jamestown and Plymouth, had a starving period, which is evidence that they did not plan their resources well. which might connect to the idea that they weren't aware of the climate and soil in the new world. - a lot of colonies were places for people who were not suited at Europe (like Puritans and Debt-owners) which kinda tells us that people with higher social rank didn't want to go, which shows that it was not a appealing and secure trip. - Besides, why would they know anything about the New World if there's no Google Earth...jk but they couldn't know every detail about geography.
Haha thank you so much
I hope that helped
