OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any other way than long division?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

try separating into two fractions I don't believe you need to long divide for that :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already long divided and got C.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

hmmm what is the integral of x^3 ?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

aka I don't think C is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x ^{4}/4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that not the integral? Once using the power rule?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

(x^4 + 2x)/x = x^3 + 2 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, take the integral of that and you get C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I did.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

if the integral of x^3 = x^4/4 how did you get C. x^4 + 2x + C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So sorry, I had be selected the entire time. My bad. I knew what I was doing just misread what choice it was :p
