Seeking help!! I am aware that in order to add/subtract rational expressions, one must find the least common denominator first. I would like to know how to solve rational expressions with a common factor in the denominator. Thanks!

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If the denominators are factorable, you should factor them as a first step and then find the Least Common Multiple which will be your common denominator.

Is that all? Are there no more steps?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

After you have written the fractions with the common denominator, then you can add the numerators.
