Which of the following equations could you solve by first adding six and then dividing by negative three? 3x - 6 = -9 6 - 3x = -9 -3x - 6 = -9 x/-3 + 6 = -9 2: Which of the following expressions could be interpreted as "a number times negative seven added to five equals two"? x - 7 + 5 = 2 5 + 7x = 2 -7x - 5 = 2 5 - 7x = 2 3: Solve -5 + w/3 = -1. 12 -12 2 -2
First
WAIT C
Sorry didn't see the word negative. *facepalm*
you would add 6 in order to remove numbers from one side of the equation
What? hmm. That makes no sense. 1 should be c
never mind i did it, it was right i accidentally pressed D
- and divide by -3 to isolate x
?? @welshfella
I was about to be really confused lol 1. C 2. C (I think) 3. C
@sophiaholder please don't give direct answers
@welshfella waht do u think?
@welshfella I already aasked if she wanted me to explain them earlier. She just wants the answers
C for 2 is wrong
you have a -7x and + 5
@sophiaholder Nevertheless its a violation of the CoC.
Wait which one is that? @welshfella
@welshfella sorry. She probably already has the answers and just wants to check if others agree.
@jessie13 do you still need help?
yes on 2 and 3
Okay so on two, I am not exactly sure. I think it is C because it had -7 and a variable (x). And added to 5 could mean subtraction because subtraction would make the five negative which would add to -7. And equals two. I am not too sure though. I think you should go with what you think.
k what about # three?
On three, you will have to solve it. Since I am not allowed to give you direct answers, tell me what you think you should do first.
Idk
Okay so we want to get the w by itself.
So we need to get rid of the numbers surrounding it.
C??
Yes ;)
thanks!!!
