Assume that there are three airlines from which to choose, each with a number of flights per day, and an on-time percentage shown below. (Assume that delays occur randomly.) A traveler selects a flight at random, and it arrives on time. Airline Num.~of Flights On-Time Perc. East-West Air 4 60 Air One 3 50 International Air 6 80 (1) What is the probability that the traveler flew on East-West Air? (2) What is the probability that the traveler flew on Air One? (3) What is the probability that the traveler flew on International Air?
@dan815
i r here!
:D
okay so its on time
East-West Air 4 60 Air One 3 50 International Air 6 80
4*0.6 = on time east -west air 4*0.6 + 3*0.5 + 6*0.8 = every on time flight 4*0.6/(4*0.6 + 3*0.5 + 6*0.8 ) is on time west air out of all the possible on time flights
same method for the rest
I didn't think about it like that ;(
xD its been the same kind of question for the last 3 ones lol
but now it makes sense to why you multiplied the number of flights
infact we did a same one yesterday too i think
similar one but not the same
ive had a long day so it blurs together
its all P(B|b)
hehe its okay
so for east-west it should be 2.6/8.9
@dan815 ?
it says not correct
8/29
make sure u plug into calculator right
Got the first one, the second one should be 15/87 and im working on the third right now
its right :D thanks
(:
