HELP PLZ! MEDAL!!!!!! If x can be any number, how many solutions are there for the equation? y = –x A. There are many solutions. B. There is no solution. C. There is only one solution. D. There are two solutions.

OpenStudy (dn_20):

The answer's definitely A. If x= 0 and y=0,, then 0=0 It would work to some other, like x=5, and y = -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is the answer A? whoever is here

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

if x can be any number...and the equation still be true...then there are infinite solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see THANKS!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

anytime :)

Not exactly... If this was an equation for a line, there would be one solution. A solution would refer to the point that the line crosses the x axis. The line y = -x would only cross at one place.
