OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

can someone please teach me how to do associative property??

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

like how to find the answer an no when i is assocative property.

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

know*

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

okay i can help

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

ok thaanks in advance!

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

okay so associative property is when u group the numbers differently, the same numbers, and the answer is the same no matter what

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

ok so answer is the same got it!

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

so a(bc) equals (ab)c

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

can you please use numbers.

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

okay sure

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

thanks

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

3(4*5) equals (3*4)5

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

i have a question for probllems that say 9(8+7) for example

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

problems

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

ok what is the question?

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

like what does it say

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

and btw what grade is this?

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

what are u suppose to do when the problem says 9(4+2) like what you do after you get 4+2=6 then you got 9n6 r u going to add subtract divide multipuly??

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

n im in 7th

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

what does the n in "9n6" mean? and u would multiply. this isnt associative property tho

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

and

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

i know but i just need help on that and no body could explain it to me :) sorry

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

oh okay when u have a # right next to ()s, then it means to multiply after u simplify/solve what is in the ()s

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

ty back to associative property!

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

okay

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

what do u not understand ?

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

like how to slove them and like if they was to give me a associative property and be like which property s this i like wouldnt do cause i truly know my properties very little cause i missed my class so i wasn't taught but i had to take the test and i made a 100% because i ask for help on here.

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

okay so associative is when u group the #s differently but no matter where you put the ()s, it will always equal the same thing

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

ok i got it ALWAYS THE SAME

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

yep :)

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

ok so can you give me a example problem and work it out for me then give me one to work out?

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

@muscrat123

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

of what?

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

associative property?

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

yeah

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

kay

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

3(4*5) = (3*4) 5

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

so either way u solve, youll get the same answer u can even do (3*5)4

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

hold on so the answer would be let me try it out first

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

m'kay

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

would the answer be 60??

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

yes and hang on

OpenStudy (kweenlexis):

ok
