A 12.39 g sample of phosphorus reacts with 42.54 chlorine to form only phosphorus trichloride (PC13). If it is the only product, what mass of PC13 formed?

Figure out how many moles you have of P and Cl respectively. Then determine which of those two substances will be the limiting factor or reagent based on the ratio in which they are consumed. Calculate the mass formed from the number of moles of the limiting reagent.
